Familiarize yourself with the 2024 IFSA Judging Handbook:

  • Review the IFSA Judging Handbook.

Complete Online Judge Training:

  • New trainees are likely to fill roles that have already been identified through Regional Series Directors or the IFSA Judging Committee.
  • Expectations for Judges are high. This means that every Judge needs to have a thorough knowledge of IFSA policies and handbooks.
  • Completion is monitored by the Head Judge Chair and IFSA Judging Committee

Communication:

  • Communication for Judges should be communicated through the Head Judge
    Chair, regional Head Judge delegate, and their respective Regional Series Director

Approval

  • All new Judges must be signed off by the Head Judge in your region

Membership

  • Membership is NOT required for Head Judge positions

Certification Levels

IFSA has established criteria to ensure uniform and high-quality judging standards at its events. The following outlines the various levels of IFSA judging and the corresponding requirements for attaining each level. These requirements are set by IFSA Senior Head Judges and may be adjusted based on ongoing analysis.

Level 1 IFSA Judge

  • Complete and pass the level 1 Judge Certification workshop
  • Shadow a judges pit at an event

Level 2 IFSA Judge

  • Scored an IFSA event with a degree of competency to the IFSA Judging System
  • Approval by IFSA Senior Head Judge

Level 3 IFSA Judge

  • Demonstrated a significant degree of competency to the IFSA Judging System
  • Knowledgable of the IFSA Handbook and Region 2 FWQ Rules & Tools
  • Approval by IFSA Senior Head Judge

Level 4 IFSA Judge

  • Demonstrated a significant degree of competency at the Level 3 Certified IFSA Judge role
  • Knowledgable of the IFSA Handbook, Region 2 FWQ Rules & Tools, and IFSA Head Judge Resposnibilities
  • Approval by IFSA Senior Head Judge

Level 5 IFSA Judge

  • Demonstrated a significant degree of competence at the Level 4 IFSA Head Judge role
  • Knowledgable of IFSA Handbook, Region 2 FWQ Rules & Tools, IFSA Technical Director responsibilites, and IFSA Head Judge Responsibilities
  • Approval by IFSA Senior Head Judge Team
