IFSA Coach certifications are required to coach at IFSA events! These certifications are implemented to ensure a safe and educational environment for our athletes, while keeping our coaches best interests at hand.
New this year: Our coach certificates now expire in the month of May (previously November). This change has been implemented to correspond with the seasonal timeline of our series. If you have a certificate with the expiration month of November, we will honor that through the year it is valid. Should you run into any discrepancies, please email training@ifsafreeride.org.
L100 certification is valid for two years, the first year being the year the test is taken.
(If you take the test midwinter of 2026, it will expire May 2027.)
L200 certification is valid for three years, the first year being the year the test is taken.
You can take the L200 test as early as one full year after completing the L100, and as late as two consecutive years.
(If you took the L100 during the 2023/24 season, the latest you can take the L200 the 2025/2026 season, as long as the course is taken before the first competition.)

2025-2026 Coach Memberships are now available. You will need both an IFSA Membership and your HOME Region’s Membership to register for events.
