ROOTED in Progression

The International Freeskier & Snowboarder Association (IFSA) was founded in 1996 by Shane McConkey, a pioneer in freeskiing. Shane believed that freeride athletes would be best served by an athlete-owned organization.  27 years later, we continue to work and play by Shane’s guiding vision – the freerider is our bottom line.

Today, the IFSA focuses on driving exceptional quality and integrity across our sport, as we sanction junior and adult big mountain competitions in North and South America.

Operate as the sanctioning body for big mountain freeride competition across North & South America.

Enable athletes to train, learn and enjoy each moment while safely achieving their freeride goals.

Represent the interests of athletes, grow our sport and enforce the rules and standards of competition as a 501c3 non profit organization.

SUpport the future of freeride

Your donation will help us continue to grow the sport of freeride, and to improve the experience of our athletes across The Americas.  As an example, in 2023-2024, the IFSA is investing money in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, to provide a voice for all populations within our community, and to continue to provide access to our sport.

Thank you for supporting the future of freeride. No donation is too large or too small.
